Counselling

What Is Counselling?

Counselling is a space where you can pause, and focus on yourself. It’s a confidential, non-judgmental environment where we work together, usually on a weekly basis to explore the challenges you’re facing, whether it’s stress, burnout, changes in relationships, or questioning the direction your life is taking. It's not about me telling you what to do but helping you find your own answers, so you can gain clarity, find new perspectives, and develop tools to cope more effectively.

What kind of problems can counselling help me with?

Coming To Counselling For The First Time

Coming to counselling for the first time can feel daunting—I completely understand that. You might be wondering, "What will I talk about? Will I be judged? Will this even help?" Please know that these concerns are entirely normal and shared by many people.
It's perfectly natural to feel nervous about opening up to someone new. Rest assured, in our sessions together, there's absolutely no pressure to have everything figured out or to know exactly where to begin. The most important thing is simply showing up and being willing to engage with the process, however that looks for you.
I'm here to create a warm, accepting space where we can work at your pace and follow what matters most to you. Many clients find that once they've attended their first session, those initial worries begin to fade as they experience the supportive nature of counselling firsthand.

Our First Session

Our first session together is all about getting to know one another. You can share exactly as much or as little as feels right for you—there's no pressure at all. We'll chat about what's happening in your life right now and explore what you're hoping to gain from counselling.
My job is to truly listen, to help you sort through your thoughts, and to support you in making sense of your feelings. I'm here as your guide, not to judge or direct, but to walk alongside you.
Whether you're feeling stuck in a situation, wrestling with anxiety, or simply uncertain about your next steps, counselling can be a powerful space to find clarity and your own way forward. Many people find that having someone who's completely focused on understanding their perspective can be incredibly helpful during challenging times.
Remember, this is your journey, and we'll take it at a pace that works for you.
