Why I became a Counsellor
Hello I’m Sarah and several years ago I decided to make a change in my career and I trained to become a counsellor.
Throughout my teaching career, prior to counselling, I've always found deep fulfilment in helping students navigate their challenges. I noticed that many wanted to explore their feelings and emotional difficulties on a deeper level, which sparked a new passion within me.
This inspiration led me to embark on my counselling training journey. During my studies, everything fell into place—I truly felt like a 'round peg in a round hole.' I discovered that my natural compassion and empathy could make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
This Is the Journey That Shaped Me — And Now I'm Here to Walk With You
Difficult roads lead to Beautiful Destinations
My teaching background has given me valuable insights into human connection and personal growth, which I bring to each counselling session.
I'm committed to walking alongside you on your journey toward greater understanding and emotional wellbeing.
Reaching out to someone for the first time can feel overwhelming, and I completely understand how much courage that takes. My role is to offer a safe, welcoming space where you can feel at ease to talk about anything that is on your mind. Whatever you’re coping with, struggling through, or trying to work out—or even if you just feel stuck—I’m here to listen with compassion and support you in exploring your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
I work in an integrative way, which simply means I draw on different counselling approaches rather than using a single method. This way, our sessions can be tailored to suit you as an individual—because there’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to your wellbeing.

People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying, "Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner." I don't try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds. - Carl Rogers

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting — and that’s completely okay. You don’t need to have the “right words” or even know exactly what you’re looking for. Sometimes, it simply starts with a conversation.
If you’re curious about how counselling might help, or you’d just like to ask a few questions, I’d love to hear from you. There’s no pressure, no obligation — just a safe, friendly space to talk things through.
